TANJUNG AAN (Floating You’s Favorit)

Tucked away on the southern coast of Lombok, Tanjung Aan is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. This pristine beach offers a mesmerizing combination of golden sands and turquoise waters, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable surf session. The waves here cater to surfers of varying skill levels, with a consistent long right-hander that entices both beginners and more experienced riders. From time to time you can also find a left hander there.

For beginners, a longboard or a funboard is recommended to navigate this mellow wave. Intermediate and advanced surfers may ride a shortboard to tackle steeper sections when there is a bigger swell.

Lombok Surf Breaks

Gerupuk Bay is a treasure trove of 4 surf breaks, each with its own personality. From the powerful left-hander ‘Outside Left’ to the consistent rights ‘Outside Right’ to Lombok most famous wave ‘Inside’ and to the A frame ‘Don Don’. All of these waves are reached with a local fishermen boat. You can either arrange your boat from the parking or a night before. Usually its costs 100.000 IDR per person to take you and bring you back. The boat waits for you in the channel of the break.

The outside breaks catch the swell first, so it always ‘bigger’ out there. For outside left & right you should be on a shortboard. Inside and Don Don can be big fun on a longboard aswell!

The versatility makes it a favorite among surfers looking to explore different waves in one location.

EKAS (Floating You’s Favorit)

Ekas, known for its beautiful A Frame. A long left and a shorter right. The left calls for a board that strikes a balance, best is a mid-length board to navigate the variety of conditions this spot offers. On a smaller - middle swell you can have a lot of fun on a longboard. The wave is mellow and allows slower turns. In a bigger swell the waves can range from mellow section to more challenging, providing an exciting mix for surfers seeking diversity in their rides.

Additional Ekas is super beautiful. You have golden mountains surrounding you and absolutely crystal clear waters. You could take a little break at the beach between sessions.

You can reach the area 2 ways: Either you drive about 1 1/2 hours from Kuta to the tiny Surf Village or you catch a boat from Awang harbour. The boat ride is round about 30 min and takes you straight to the break.

Nestled on the southern coast of Lombok, Air Guling emerges as a tropical gem, striking the perfect balance between challenging waves and surf accessibility. This spot is particularly well-suited for intermediate surfers eager to progress their skills while relishing the beauty of Indonesia's surf scene.

Air Guling's waves are a gradual challenge, providing intermediate surfers with the opportunity to progress their skills. The break offers a mix of mellow and slightly more challenging sections, creating an environment that encourages surfers to refine their technique and build confidence in the water.

Lombok Surf Breaks

Mawi's powerful and steep waves demand a shortboard. This spot is reserved for advanced surfers. A shortboard's agility is essential for navigating the fast, powerful break that characterizes Mawi.

Be prepared for an intense, thrilling ride. But once you manage you understand it, you will probably love it. You have to take a 10 min dirt road to get here from the main road.

The dirt road gets very challenging when it rains, thats why its usually only surfed in the summer.

Sometimes you can catch a ride in the months of season change: October and March. Depending on the rainfall and the winds. An absolutely beautiful spot - also for a swim (you need high tide for that).

Super cute beach warung from the best local family! Our favorite Mie Goreng of the island.
